Roman Radar is a weekly curated guide to what’s worth experiencing in the Eternal City across art, music, food and culture.

The newsletter drops every Tuesday on Substack, put together by journalists Giulia Kappelin Cingolani and Nora Adin Fares. 

Based in Rome, the Radar covers the city the way locals do: with opinions, context and a healthy disregard for tourist traps. Every once in a while, Roman Radar also publishes longer essays on Italian politics, urban culture, art history and whatever else feels urgent or underwritten enough to deserve more than a paragraph.

Beyond the weekly guide, Roman Radar also produces projects that take it out of the inbox and into the city. Eroi in Edicola, a collaboration with C+E Hub, is a travelling magazine concept that moves between Rome’s edicole, dedicating each issue to a single neighbourhood and the people who keep it alive.

Photographers and writers based in Rome who’d like to contribute are always welcome to reach out. No idea is too small.
